Landing Homes
Most of our residents move in with everything they own in one bag. They move out with a lease in their own name.

Landing Homes is a scattered-site housing program: 92 apartments spread across 14 buildings in west and north Charlotte, close to bus lines and job centers. Each apartment is furnished before move-in by volunteers who stock the kitchen, make the bed, and leave a welcome note.
Residents pay a share of rent that grows as their income grows, starting at zero. A housing coach meets with each resident every week for the first three months and every other week after that. By month 18, every resident has a written plan for the apartment they will move into next.
Rent support lasts up to 24 months. When residents leave, we help with deposits, first month's rent, and a reference from a landlord who has watched them pay on time.

Questions
Do I need a job to apply?
No. Many residents start with no income. Your rent share starts at $0 and goes up only when your income does.
Can my child live with me?
Yes. Twenty of our apartments are two-bedroom units held for young parents.
What if I already aged out years ago?
If you're under 25 and spent any time in foster care after age 13, you can apply.
